Deadline October 31, 2024
Thanks to the Nebraska Children’s Opportunity Act in LB753, NE tax credits are available until October 31, 2024. Individuals and businesses can control how half of their state income tax is spent and who benefits from it. Receive tax credits up to 50% of your Nebraska state income tax liability with a donor cap of $100,000 (per business and individual). These tax credit contributions can help provide scholarships for families.
What is the process for receiving a tax credit?
1. Determine your tax liability and notify Children’s Tuition Fund (CTF), the Scholarship Granting Organization, of the amount of tax-credits you want to reserve.
2. CTF will confirm credit availability with the NE DOR and notify you to make your contribution. Contributions must be made between thirty-one and sixty days after notifying CTF of your desire to reserve tax-credits.
3. CTF will issue you a receipt letter that must be submitted with your tax return
